D1 Professional Drift Series is the top drifting series in the world. Started here in Japan it has now spread with new series' opening in the US, UK and Malaysia with exhibition competitions in many other countries such as China.

Drifting is not a race, but a competition. The idea is to slide your way around a corner with more angle, more speed, more smoke, more control of the slide than the other drivers. Judges (former race drivers and also the live MC's) give points for many such categories.

Without a doubt these drivers put on more of a show than most any other kind of motorsport. All the action is contained in a few short corners so spectators can see the whole thing right in front of them.

This competition was the 5th round of the D1 GP and took place at Ebisu Circuit in Fukushima prefecture, Japan.
